In order to fulfill the request
for theater beyond time,
it is necessary
to find
a transcript method
capable of capturing
precise guidelines
for its overall
presentation.
It must include
all activities
occurring over time,
recorded in a clear
graphical form.
I could only
envy
composers for
the precision of the notation
in their scores.
I had to create
my own – a mechanical one.
Again, this time
I referred again
to “Mobile of Perpetual Execution,”
which, after all, builds the cyclical nature
of the entire performance.
The view of its operation from above,
through
rotation,
is precisely inscribed
as a circle.
The enumerated
five stages of the object’s operation
were expressed
in three circular diagrams
where – in two of them
– its positions
form the shape of a cross.
Because
through the 9 cycles
its functioning
remains unchanged,
it is enough, following
these three diagrams,
to delineate coordinates
of appearance and activation
of subsequent machines
(here gathered into a table),
so that all of it
is classified
into a readable form.
This is how
a universal
screenwriting scheme emerged
– my mechanical directive,
a repository
of all dependencies
onstage.
